Hotels raise $210,000 to help save lives
Queensland’s hotel industry has rallied to make a significant difference to the health of the
community, with more than 250 hotels raising funds for medical research and our regional
hospitals through the Queensland Hotel’s Association annual fundraiser – QHA Hotel Care.
During September, hotels from around the State raised funds for this great cause, and together,
have raised more than $210,000 – taking the total raised through QHA Hotel Care over the past
six years to exceed ONE MILLION DOLLARS!
The PA Research Foundation Chief Executive Officer Nicolas Allen said the annual fundraising
campaign really does make a difference and gives the medical researchers and their teams a
much needed financial boost to do the very best they can.
“Hotels in metropolitan areas have 100% of funds raised directed to PA Research Foundation
and the Mater Foundation. Hotels in regional Queensland have 50% of funds raised donated to
their local regional hospital and 50% to the Foundations.
It doesn’t get better than that,” said
Nicholas.
“The PA Research Foundation are proud to be associated with QHA
and believes the rest of the community should be aware of the tremendous spirit of this
organisation.”

QHA Hotel CareQHA Hotel Care (formally known as Hotel Care Week) is a working partnership between the Queensland Hotels Association, the PA Research Foundation and the Mater Foundation . The aim of the campaign
is to raise much needed funds for medical research and our regional hospitals. Hotels voluntarily participate in the campaign and fundraising activities are organised by each hotel’s nominated “Hotel Champion”. In past years, hotels have run raffles, car rallies, auctions, golf days, breakfasts and dinners, and themed party nights. It’s designed to be a fun and positive event and the fundraising possibilites are endless! Hotels located in metropolitan areas have 100% of funds raised directed to the PA Research Foundation and the Mater Foundation. Hotels in regional Queensland have 50% of funds raised donated to their local regional hospital and 50% to the Foundations.
