Cancer patients receive new treatments as a result of new technology
Cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy at the PA Hospital will be the first in Queensland to receive specialised treatment using two new forms of technology.
The new technologies include 4D-Computerised Tomography (CT) imaging and high energy (15MV) x-ray beams, which is all part of the hospital’s $26.8 million radiation oncology expansion.
The technology offers the most precise form of radiation therapy currently available to patients, decreasing many of the unpleasant side-effects of treatment.
