PRIVATE PRACTICE TRUST FUND RESEARCH SUPPORT GRANT

It is essential that you read the following PA Foundation Research Grant Scheme Criteria before submitting an application.

· All applications will be assessed based on scientific quality (relative to the field of research), track record of the researcher and/or research group and innovation. The process is competitive and pilot projects or applications without preliminary data will normally be rejected.
· Funding for research training remains an important component of expenditure, but the Foundation encourages this training to be undertaken within successful research groups.
· The percentage of distribution of funds will be fluid, based on available funds and quality of the applications in the categories listed below.
· The Foundation is keen to promote collaborations between groups, development of strong research programs (such as eligible for NHMRC programs) and basic science-clinical partnerships. Special consideration will be given to those applications in which clinicians and non-clinicians are co-applicants (See tick box on forms).
· The PA Foundation will not fund projects which do not adequately address the criteria on the application form. Applicants must adhere to the space limits contained in the form. Any additional pages will be discarded.
· Funding will be given for one year. Any further funding will be at the discretion of the PA Foundation Research Committee and applicants must reapply each year.
