2012 Grants


2011 was the first year that the PA Research Foundation and the Private Practice Trust Fund joined to provide the PA Research Support Scheme.

The application and assessment process of the PA Research Support Scheme is administered with the support of the Centres for Health Research.

The 2012 program featured the following funding categories:

  1. Post Graduate Scholarships (a stipend of up to 3 years duration)
  2. Small Grants ($20,000)
  3. Project Grants ($75,000)
  4. New Appointment Grant ($75,000 for 2 years)
  5. Near-Miss NHMRC Grant ($75,000)
  6. Infrastructure Support- A new initiative to provide a total of $100,000  to reward research excellence by supporting the indirect cost of research of PAH researchers who are the CIAs on a successful NHMRC Project grant application for funding during 2012.

The aims of the PA Research Support Scheme is to:

  • Support high quality clinical research of PAH staff that improves patient outcomes
  • Strengthen inter-disciplinary collaborations within PAH and our affiliated Universities

Payments for successful recipients will commence from January 2012.
