The PA Research Foundation helps raise funds for research undertaken at The Princess Alexandra Hospital's Centres for Health Research.

The Centres provides professional advice and support in relation to research management / governance and research ethics including:

  • promoting the conduct of research in keeping with state, commonwealth and international regulatory, legislative and ethical standards including the NHMRC National Statement (2007), Australian Code of Conduct for Responsible Research and the ICH/GCP (Good Clinical Practice) Guidelines in Research,
  • intellectual property and contractual agreements,
  • awareness of funding opportunities and developing grant applications,
  • facilities, space and resource management,
  • mentoring and training support to researchers,
  • research protocol submissions to the Metro South Health Services District Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC)

The Centres for Health Research is the first point of contact for researchers wishing to undertake research involving humans.  The Centres hosts the Metro South Health Service District HREC.
