Research Interest/Field: Community rehabilitation. Outpatient services. Brain injury and spinal cord injury.
What made you decide to work in this field? A mixture of things, including; need - the effects of brain injury can be devastating on a person and their family, opportunity - there are some very creative services and researchers in this area.
What is the goal and significance of your research that you would like people to know? Building social, psychological and service supports to assist people with brain injuries.
If you were at a dinner party and someone asked you what you are researching, what would you say? How to improve services to ensure the best outcomes for people with brain injuries.
How does or how has or how will funding from a Foundation help your research project? It allows us to work with a number of colleagues across a variety of professions to come up with practical strategies for improving services here at PAH, which will hopefully have implications for many other hospitals and rehabilitation services.
What is on your research wish list? Some major research projects, which lead to innovative findings, which improve people's lives.
What do yu like to do when you're not at work? Gardening, wood turning.
What would you be doing if you weren't a researcher? I have always fancied the idea of being a foreign correspondent!
What are you most proud of? My son, Nic.
