2019 Research Awards
The PA Research Foundation have opened applications for the 2019 Research Awards.
The 2019 Research Awards will support innovative research into deadly and debilitating disease at the PA Hospital Campus.
These will be distributed to clinically lead, collaborative teams and be provided in these specific areas directed by PARF donors: breast cancer, skin cancer and prostate cancer. In addition, we will allocate funds to all projects in other cancer and other health & disease categories. The 2019 Research Awards are open to the entire PAH Campus.
Eight research project teams received $100,000 General Grants through the 2018 Research Awards and it is the Foundation's intention to build upon these, as well as fund new, innovative research projects during the 2019 grant round.
2019 will also see the addition of the new Research Excellence Award - a $350,000, 3-year grant for a research project which best fits the funding criteria.
Through the Research Awards, the Foundation aims to support and foster young and upcoming researchers with the mandatory inclusion of a new researcher on collaborative project teams.
PA Research Foundation CEO Damian Topp said that PARF is excited to build upon the solid foundations of the 2018 Research Awards.
"This year, we have been able to fund several novel, innovative research grants at the PA Hospital Campus.
"We will continue to fund research across our key areas of prostate cancer, skin cancer and breast cancer as directed by our donors, but we will also allocate funding to projects across other cancer and other health and disease areas.
"Our Research Awards only exist through the generous support of our donors and partners who we, and the researchers we fund, cannot thank enough," said Damian.
The major contributors to the 2019 Research awards are PARF valued partners ALH Group, Spirit Hotels, AVEO, Coca-Cola Amatil, St. George Bank and Network TEN, individual donors and those who have left bequests to the PA Research Foundation.
