In support of International Women's Day this year, the PA Research Foundation (PARF) proudly celebrated the female community at the PA Hospital Campus by teaming up with key partners to collaborate with a range of inspiring events across two days.
The events kicked off on Thursday morning at the Metro South Health Staff Forum, which included lively panel discussions about the balance of work, life, health and family for women in the healthcare environment. PARF Chief Executive Officer, Damian Topp, also shared insight into the Foundation's commitment in investing in both women in research, and female health research areas.
On Thursday afternoon, the Greek Club held an indulgent High Tea, spoiling guests with sweet and savoury delights and a talk from PARF funded breast cancer researcher, Honor Hugo about the Mammographic Density collaborative research project she is leading at the Translational Research Institute.
Regatta Hotel also celebrated with a healthy breakfast on Friday morning; including a beautiful array of delicious breakfast foods, health checks, and inspiring talks from leading researchers.
The PA Hospital was also a hive of activity on Friday morning, with Tammy's cupcakes (Cupcake Crayzee) for sale and several departments holding their own morning tea events to fundraise.
Through the events of the week, collectively over $5000 has been raised to support female health research; an amazing effort demonstrating the wider community's commitment to restoring the balance for better within the healthcare environment, and medical research industry.
