March 8 was International Women's Day, and to mark the occasion PARF celebrated with a fundraiser on the morning of Friday March 6 at the PA Hospital, with cupcakes for sale by the wonderful Cupcake Crazyee.
The theme for the 2020 IWD Campaign, Each for Equal, was focused on creating a gender equal world by challenging stereotypes, fighting biases, broadening perceptions, improving situations and celebrating women's achievements.
The PA Hospital Campus is home to a community of inspiring women, across many health disciplines and research areas. International Women's Day presents the opportunity to celebrate women in healthcare and medical research at PA Hospital, while also raising funds for a female health research area.
The morning did not disappoint, with the hospital a hive of activity and excitement, and all cupcakes sold out by 11 am. The event was a huge success, raising over $3580 for female health research.
Congratulations to our International Women's Day raffle winner, Linda Anderson, who is a patient at the PA and was over the moon with her win.
Special thanks to PARF friend and superstar fundraiser, Tammy from Cupcake Crayzee for her support. Tammy is an incredibly inspiring woman, who goes above and beyond to support the Foundation, amidst her own battle with metastatic breast cancer.
PARF remains firmly committed to investing in female researchers and female health research areas to help improve outcomes for women facing some of Australia's most debilitating disease and heath challenges.
Thank you so much to all of the PAH staff who joined us in celebrating this wonderful event and helping us spotlight the strong female community within the hospital.
