MANDATE Men's Health

Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of deaths in Aussie blokes, with over 3,000 losing their life each year. You can help reduce these numbers by fundraising or making a donation to fund for prostate cancer research.
MANDATE isn’t just about raising funds for innovative research, but also encourages blokes to open up about their health and go to their GP if something doesn’t seem right, early detection is key to a more positive prognosis.

MANDATE Partners

Celebrating 10-years with Australian Venue Co.

Australian Venue Co. (AVC) venues have supported MANDATE for 10 years to raise awareness for men’s health and funds for prostate cancer research. During our partnership, AVC communities have contributed over $1.38 million raised to help further prostate cancer research, including the work of Dr Arutha Kulasinghe.

How the funds are used

Thanks to supporters and our AVC partners, Dr Arutha Kulasinghe has received MANDATE funding to analyse patients’ responses to immunotherapies.

Cancer treatment can be quite aggressive and is sometimes unsuccessful. There’s various different types and subtypes of cancer which is why there’s different treatment regimes — it’s not a one size fits all approach. Dr Kulasinghe has examined biopsies and used spatial mapping to identify the most effective immunotherapy for individual patients, providing better outcomes.

Put the odds in your favour

"We are working hard, and the more guys that go out and get their PSA tested, the more clinical cases we know about. It also helps us if you get tested because you get tested early, your cancer goes away if it gets treated effectively, that helps us as well because that's the outcome we ultimately want. There's nothing bad about getting tested "
