Please show us how much you care
Aussie blokes need a bit of a nudge when it comes to getting health check-ups and speaking up when something isn’t quite right. We need your help to get the men in our lives to be more proactive when it comes to their health.
Australian men are more likely than Australian women to get sick from serious health problems and their mortality rate is also much higher.
This is largely due to the fact that men visit the doctor less frequently, have shorter visits and only attend when their illness is in its later stages. We need to encourage our blokes to keep up with their health screenings and go to the doctor when something doesn’t feel right, both will promote early detection and improve their outcomes.
The main health concerns Aussie men are faced with are, heart disease, lung cancer, Cerebrovascular (brain) disease, chronic lower respiratory diseases, prostate cancer, blood and lymph cancer, diabetes, colon and rectum cancer, as well as mental health.
