This year’s ALH Group Project Pink campaign, championed by ALH’s130+ Queensland venues and their staff, has officially wrapped up with pinktacular fundraising results for the PA Research Foundation. Through an inspiring array of events including mocktails, drag queen bingo, dinners, raffles and more, the Foundation’s dedicated and passionate partners rallied their customers and communities and raised $793,000 (including online donations) this year for an amazing cause.
Since launching the initiative in 2009, ALH Queensland has raised just shy of $6 million for breast cancer research and patient care, making a real difference in early detection treatment advancements, and comfort for patients. These funds are more than just numbers, they mean new equipment for the PA Hospital, patient care initiatives, and more importantly the progressing of research into breast cancer treatments and diagnoses.
“We are incredibly lucky, not only for the generosity of the community but also for our partnership with ALH Group, whose support continues to drive lifesaving research and supporting those with breast cancer. Our mission to save lives of breast cancer patients wouldn’t be possible without them”, Damien Topp, PA Research Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer said.
Echoing that sentiment, Community Partnerships Manager Ellen Dann added “We are deeply grateful to every ALH Team Member and every guest who joined this campaign. Your kindness and commitment to the cause have truly turned Project Pink into a powerful community movement”.
A heartful thank you to everyone involved, ALH venues, staff, customers and communities for lighting the way forward. Here’s to next year’s Project Pink, and to bringing raising more awareness one pink event at a time.
